Tips & Tricks for Entering

  • Remember that presentation is very important
  • Marks will be deducted for poor labelling
  • Where a number of items is specified, for example 3 potatoes, any variation from this will be disqualified
  • Where a particular plant is specified, the inclusion of any other plant is not permitted
  • Mounts should enhance the photograph or picture – never let it overpower the subject
  • In Sections A and D where a class says a certain number of items (potatoes, scones etc), consistency in size, colour, shape is generally looked for
  • All entries should be pest & disease free
  • Make sure to check sizes/dimensions within the programme and keep within these limits
  • Scale your entries depending on the class size (e.g. tea cup flowers should be selected so that they are an appropriate scale)
