The show is organised by a group of local volunteers and has been running for over three decades although in a reduced format for 2015 – 2017. The new committee were very excited to relaunch the show in 2018 with 60 show classes available for entrants to participate in and a host of awards for the worthy winners! The 2018 – 2024 shows were a huge success and the committee look forward to growing on our success for the 2026 show.
The Henbury Flower Show takes place at Blaise Community Garden.
In 2013 a group of local volunteers set up a Community Garden in the derelict walled garden of the Blaise Castle Estate.
About an acre of land covered in brambles and broken glass with the frames of seven old greenhouses has been gradually transformed into a gardeners’ paradise, growing fruit, vegetables and flowers. A place for getting some exercise and making friends.
Funds are raised by selling plants, running regular cafes and holding markets and the money is spent on maintaining the site.
The Garden is open to visitors and volunteers on Wednesdays and Saturdays plus Mondays in the summer, 10am -2pm.
Find the Garden next to Blaise Museum, off Church Lane BS10 7QS.
